Pricing & print settings

Set the price per printed page at 0% ink coverage (light text) and 100% ink coverage (full-bleed graphics). Price scales linearly between these for every job.

Minimum charge

No job is ever charged less than this, even a single light page.

Bulk rates are selected separately for Short, A4, and Long. A threshold is counted as printed sheets per copy × copies for the selected paper size. When a job qualifies for more than one rate for that paper, the highest threshold wins.

Binding rates

Priced by a print job's total page count (pages × copies). A page count beyond the last range uses that range's price.

Auto-print incoming jobs

When enabled, a print-ready batch sent in from a customer's own device prints immediately — before anyone collects payment for it — as long as its total page count is within the limit below. Larger batches always wait in Incoming for manual review, exactly as they do today. Handy overnight, when nobody's at the counter to approve each one as it comes in; payment is still collected the normal way, just when the customer arrives instead of before printing.

Paying with points

How much of a sale this shop lets customers cover with referral points. Printing and school supplies are set separately — a shop may be happy to discount its own printing while refusing to discount stock it bought at wholesale. These limits are published to the iPrintMo Send app, so customers see the same rule before they order, and they are enforced again here when the sale is charged.

Bulk-print downpayment

Require BYOD customers to pay part of a large order before it enters the print queue. The remaining balance is collected at pickup.

Job separation pages

Controls jobs printed from this kiosk and jobs received from a customer's device. QR-paid jobs always print a separation page so payment confirmation stays with the output.

Only reachable after signing in as admin — employees never see this panel.

School supplies

Items customers can buy at the counter — on their own, or added on to a print job. Stock decreases automatically as items sell. This kiosk's own catalog and stock — not shared with any other kiosk. The supplier price is yours alone: it never appears in the customer app, on a receipt, or anywhere outside this shop. It is what turns the Sales report's supplies figures into real margin, and can be left blank if you don't track it.

Add each network printer this kiosk can use. Status shows whether a printer is reachable on the network right now — it can't detect paper or toner level, only whether it's on and responding.

Printers connected to this PC

Finds printers plugged into this machine by USB, plus any already installed in Windows. A web page can't see them on its own, so this asks the iPrintMo print agent running on this PC — start it with node tools/print-agent.js.

Scan network for printers

Browsers can't list printers directly, so this sweeps your network range for devices responding on printer ports (IPP/JetDirect) — pick the real ones from the results.

Paper trays

No printer can report how many sheets are actually loaded — the hardware simply doesn't expose it. So tell iPrintMo what you loaded, and every printed sheet is counted against it. The shop is alerted when a tray drops to 20% or runs out. Refill a tray here whenever you top it up, so the count stays honest.
